Historic District · Beaufort, South Carolina

Ms. Hattie's porch light is on for you.

A remodeled four-bedroom Lowcountry home a short walk from the Beaufort waterfront. Room for nine, parking for four cars, and a quiet garden patio she loved.

The house

This was Ms. Hattie's home. Now it's yours for the weekend.

Hattie's Place sits on a quiet street in Beaufort's Historic District, under the same moss-draped live oaks you'll pass on the walk to Bay Street. The ranch has been fully remodeled, but we kept the parts of it she loved: the aged brick, the exposed beams, the garden she tended, and the patio where she watched the birds come and go.

Pull up a chair, breathe deep, and enjoy the same peaceful moments she cherished.

Inside you'll find soft coastal blues, comfortable recliners, a dining table that seats ten, and a kitchen stocked for real family meals. Everything is on one level, which guests with strollers, grandparents, and wheelchairs have all told us they appreciated.

Parris Island graduation weekends

Built for the whole family to come see their Marine.

Family Day and graduation are long days. Hattie's Place gives everyone a real bed, a big table to gather around, and a short drive to the depot.

  • Parking for four vehicles on site and street parking for three more, which is rare in the Historic District.
  • Dining table for ten, plus a breakfast table in the kitchen for early starts.
  • Single-level layout with no stairs to manage.
  • Walk to dinner downtown after the ceremony, no second drive.
  • Close to MCAS Beaufort for base visits and ceremonies.

"The roll in access was important to us, as we have a wheelchair user in our family. Most homes in the area do not have this! Highly recommended!"

Melanie · stayed for her son's boot camp graduation

"Truly appreciate how easy you made things when we didn't know what to expect with the Marine experience. Made it less stressful!"

Julie · Parris Island graduation, September 2026

Good to know

Questions guests ask

How far is it to Parris Island?

About 15 minutes by car to the depot, depending on traffic and the line at the gate. Leave extra time on graduation morning.

Where do we park?

There's room for four vehicles on the property and street parking for about three more. Parking is hard to find in the Historic District, so this is a real advantage for larger groups.

Is the home accessible?

The house is all on one level with a private entrance. Guests traveling with a wheelchair user have told us the entry worked well for them. Message us with specific needs and we'll give you exact details before you book.

Does the fireplace work?

The brick fireplace in the den is decorative only. For a fire, use the propane fire table on the back patio.

Are pets allowed?

Not at Hattie's Place. Pets, smoking and events are not permitted.
